Since the establishment of the State of Israel, the Israeli government has commissioned graphic artists to design posters for Yom Ha'atzmaut (Independence Day).
This poster was designed by Bezalel student Ofra Barchihu-Kastner.

In the center of the poster is a wide open shutter that marks the number 11. In a sunny open window, a boy can be seen smiling and holding a bouquet of flowers. Behind him, with beaming faces, are his parents. At the edge of the shutter is a white dove and around butterflies and flowers expressing freedom and blossoming. The dominant colors are blue and white.

The poster expresses joy, optimism and hope for peace.
