For our image, we decided to draw the silhouette of Jerusalem to symbolize the holy city, as it is the capital of Israel. We drew doves with olive branches in their beaks flying over the silhouette to symbolize peace. Altogether, the image is meant to represent the hope for peace to finally fly over our holy land. Israel is central to our lives, even here in America. We recognize and have learned the close relationship between Israel and diaspora Jews and our responsibility to continue to support Israel, especially in a time of crisis. We are trying to convey a message of longstanding and everlasting peace for Israel. We were inspired by the 1967 Shanah Tova poster in front of the Kotel.
