In our poster you can see the cards that the 1st and 2nd graders decorated and wrote to the soldiers and the people of Israel. We chose to use 3 elements: the Magen David, a Heart and a Dove, symbolizing the Jewish Culture, our love for Israel and our wish for peace. The students wrote sentences and words, such as "Am Israel Chai", "We pray for you", "I love Israel", "Stop the war", "Be brave" and "Courage". The main colors of our posters are the Blue and White, symbolizing the colors of the Deguel (Flag) and the Talit." "For us, Israel serves as a central component of Jewish identity, providing students a link to their heritage and history. Today Israel represents values of strength, perseverance, and solidarity. Overall, Israel serves as a vital component of the educational experience in our school, shaping students' understanding of Jewish identity, culture, history, and values. In our posters we are conveying messages of strength, perseverance and love for Israel. We wanted to express admiration for Israel's resilience and strength. Our messages reflect a desire for Israel to thrive in a secure and stable environment, free from conflict. We were inspired by the lesson plan "Visual Essay: Independence Day Posters", using it's colors and being inspired by the poster of 1959 and the way that the menorah seems to be overlapping, like the symbols we used in our cards. Also the "Words can make a difference" material were very inspiring for us to send our love and support for Israel.
