In my poster, I incorporated Israeli foods to show the different things I love in Israel. I also drew a dove with the Magen David in its mouth. The dove represents peace, and it’s coming to the Israeli flag and bringing peace into Israel. I represented the “peace” coming to Israel by drawing a literal piece of the flag (the star), completing it. Israel plays an immense role in the Jewish world by providing a place to call home. Security, traditions, and religious foundations are all great reasons why this is possible, but also because Israel contributes to Jewish peace. Without a place where they can return, Jews may feel unsafe or out of place. Fortunately, Israel’s role is to provide this comfort to any Jew in any situation. One of the ways Israel shows this is the symbol of the dove. To the Jewish people, this representation of peace and hope serves as a reminder of the connection to new beginnings. The dove is sometimes seen as the center of a piece of art or a memory in the back of a Jew’s head. It shows us how we revolve around the meaning of true harmony and spirit. Israel represents many values, such as freedom of religion and culture. It strives to foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its citizens. Israel also recognizes the importance of good food. From falafel to shawarma to shakshuka, there is nothing like Jewish food. It comes from the roots of the religion and continues to be made to this day. There are values like peace and tradition, which show how we are an invincible nation. In my poster, I am conveying the message of how Israel benefits the Jewish people by tracing back to its very start and providing a warm home for everyone. The primary source that inspired me from the National Library of Israel is a drawing by Stefen Razan of doves carrying the flag of Israel, which acts like an umbrella over the harsh rain. It seems like it is protecting the world below from times of war. This poster inspired me to make my drawing with similar ideas.
