We chose the number 77 and the words tradition, hope and unity. - 77 is for 77 years of the State Israel, hope is for a brilliant future and unity is here because we want the unity of the entire Jewish nation, in Israel and in diaspora. We chose a dove carrying an olive branch as a symbol of the peace we eagerly await. We also chose the menorah and the Magen David as symbols of the Jewish people, the shofar as a symbol of announcing to the world that we have the right to our own state, the Torah as the direction that guides us and by which we live, the letter ה (hei) as a symbol of the Hebrew language. Israel is what we think about every day. It's a home besides our real homes, a place we look to for inspiration. We want to know about its history and today's life as well. Israel represents freedom, refuge for all Jewish people in the world, it represents innovation, modern life, and modern way of thinking intertwined with a tradition that we all carry inside us. We hope that our poster reflects that. We need to develop a spirit of unity because Israel will exist as long as we all stick together. Tradition, unity, and hope held us all those years, and we need to keep them as long as we can. We looked at drawings, posters, and postcards that we found on the NLI website. We thought about what we could do to create a unique poster that reflected our thoughts and hopes.
