In our poster we included important landmarks of the Land of Israel, including the Dead Sea, the Negev, and all of the many different climates one can find there. We have the flag represented to symbolize Israel and the entire poster is set inside a cozy house to symbolize our feeling that Israel is our home (HaBayit Shelanu). Since we see Israel as the home for the Jewish people, we tried to portray this in our poster. The setting is within a home but includes the iconic parts of the land that people would visit when they travel to and through Israel. While not geographically accurate, we were going for the metaphor of what makes up our home - Israel. The message we are conveying is that even though we may live in different places, we all have a home in Israel. We hope that everyone in the Jewish community will at least visit and feel at home, even if they do not live there. For our inspiration we looked at previous pictures that have been uploaded to the National Library of Israel, specifically the ones regarding Yom Haatzmaut. We also were inspired by the popular phrase that we used on Holidays saying that we all want to be in Jerusalem next year.
