One of the major elements I’ve displayed in my poster is that Israel is supporting the world. Even though it is small, Israel has a remarkable amount of power. The pita with the Israeli flag is the pita you can get in Israel, holding the falafel as well as working together to create something beautiful. In this case, the blue and green falafel balls are miniature Earths, held up by the degel, or flag. The hand holding the falafel has a blue and white “Bring Them Home Now!” bracelet, with a dangling hostage ribbon. In big letters at the top, there is “Am Yisrael Chai” representing Israel’s determination and perseverance in a difficult time. Israel plays an important role in the Jewish world, acting as a home and sanctuary for Jews everywhere. My poster shows this by having the pita acting as a home for the falafel balls, which represent Jewish men and women across the world, living in a home made for them. Israel makes Jews feel connected to their heritage, while some Jews outside of Israel are self-conscious about their religion and scared to embrace it. Israel helps them be more comfortable with that. In my poster, I am trying to show how Israel brings Jews across the world together as one big family. With the “Bring Them Home Now!” bracelet I am attempting to convey how Israel will never give up, even during this rough patch in Israel’s history. My primary source was the “Wash Fruit” poster, which also represents Israel’s ethnicity in food form. Just like my falafel, the “Wash Fruit” poster promotes healthy eating towards children, while also representing Israel.
