I will draw pizza as the Star of David. The Hebrew vowels look like toppings. I put a chai in the middle to symbolize the joy in life. It was fun to play with the shape and form and add the colors of Israel's flag in the background. Even though we all have different "toppings," we can all come together. Israel is the home for all kinds of people. I wrote "Peace-a" because it sounds like pizza, but also has the word peace. Israel represents the values of connecting Jewish people to each other and growing together. Israel also represents Life, that's why we say Am Yisrael Chai. I am conveying a message of peace and tastiness. I learned from my school that pizza is also very popular in Israel, and they have different toppings in America. Pizza brings us together and sharing foods helps create peace. I was inspired by the Israeli Diamond Center Poster, 1970. I saw the diamonds making the Star of David shape and thought about what else I could make with shapes. The world in the middle of the diamond poster made me think about something else that could go in the middle, so I chose chai because people know about it all over the world.
