Hello, our names are Ariana Bub and Norah Mayer, and we want to tell you why we drew our poster the way we did. First, we decided to put “Am Yisrael Chai” on our poster to show our support and love for Israel. We want to show that Israel will always stand proudly and will always shine. Next, we put yellow ribbons and said, “BRING THEM HOME.” We put that to show our support, love, and mourning for each and every hostage still being held captive in Israel. We then put an Israeli and American hand attached to each other, and a Star of David in the middle. We drew that to show that we support Israel even though we are American. It shows that America stands with Israel. It also shows that us Jews in America still support Israel even though we are millions of miles away. We also put a hamsa for peace in not only the State of Israel, but everywhere to show that we want peace in the world. We put Jewish quotes as well to show the other Jews in the world taking a stand and being proud to be Jewish. That Israel is the homeland for all jews around the world. Support and love to the state of Israel, and hope that the hostages will return home soon. We got inspired to do these things from winners from previous years and thought what we saw was meaningful.
