We decided to choose an important moment in history, the Warsaw ghetto uprising. The people living in the ghetto in 1943 initially were successful against Nazi troops with homemade bombs and very few weapons. At one point in the uprising they flew a Jewish flag made of white material with a blue star of David in the middle. It was a symbol of their hope for the future of the Jewish people. They found light in a very dark time and revolted against a very powerful army. This memory can give us hope that today we can defeat Hamas. We must bring all of the hostages home and restore the sense of security for our homeland. We were inspired by history lessons at CJDS.
