Our poster depicts a window frame to symbolize us looking at our relationship with Israel – from wherever we are. The collage of images shows different sides of Israel, representing its diversity: cities, natural beauty, culture and history are all present. The hand-drawn person expresses how much we long to connect with the country and all that makes it up. Both our heritage and our future. Israel is the center of our connection to Jewish life, no matter where we are. When we understand the connection, we know that we have a Homeland and that our people and our history belong there. From its earliest days, the strength of Israeli society has represented a sense of community for Jewish people around the world. This is a feature that still endures and has revealed itself over time in many ways, such as in the culture of innovation nowadays. This also shapes our Jewish identity. Our poster conveys the message that the younger generations of the Jewish people long to connect with Israel as a place of belonging. Looking into our view is like beholding a possibility for our future. During our creative process a few works caught our eyes: A Board Game by El Al Poster, 32nd Yom Ha'atzmaut Poster, 1980 (by Gideon Sagi); Poster, Ha'aretz, 1980s (by Ora Eitan) and 11th Yom Ha'atzmaut Poster, 1959 (by Ofra Barchihu-Kastner). The reason for our inspiration is because all of these works display the Israeli diversity, sense of community and expressions of joy and hope.
