Embarking on a Journey!
Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrations are an important milestone, as teens become independent members of the Jewish people. Our program includes 12 chapters which help to understand different elements of Jewish identity and culture and prepare for celebration.
The NLI Bar/Bat Mitzvah Journey includes 12 chapters that touch upon various elements of Jewish identity and culture through selected treasures from our archives and collections. In chapter 13 the learners will have an opportunity to share a primary source of their own – an authentic presentation of their personal experience, thus adding their link in the chain of history.
You can download and print the program PDF for off-line use or embark on a Bar / Bat Mitzvah Journey on-line by clicking on the map.
Throughout the program, the participants will document their unique journey in a digital scrapbook we have designed especially for them. There they can add and share their personal reflections and experiences by creating and collecting the elements that make this milestone meaningful to them!
