Participants explore the multiple facets of Israeli life and culture by diving into visual primary sources representing the richness of Israel’s story. Through an interactive activity, participants create a visual storyline that expresses their personal perspective on Israel.

Through a gallery walk around a curated exhibit of NLI items, participants reflect on which themes and artifacts should be represented in a national, collective memory with repository and why. They then engage in a creative activity to add a piece of their own to the collection.

The Well

The Well is a five-day seminar for Jewish educators from outside of Israel who work in the fields of Jewish History, Jewish Studies, and Israel Studies. The Well offers methodology for further advancing the skills of participants and building a framework around best practice for using primary sources in the classroom. Along with hands-on activities, lectures, discussions, and workshops, the seminar will include immersive experiences and opportunities to share ideas, challenges, and questions with fellow educators from across the globe.
