Hebrew Dominos

Hebrew words can sometimes be tricky! Some Hebrew words sound the same but have different meanings (homophones), and some are spelled the same but have multiple meanings (homographs). In this activity, students will match Hebrew words with their correct English translations, paying attention to tricky aspects of the language.

  • Cut out each set of dominoes and shuffle them. Each color is a separate domino set.
  • Decide which set you want to start with and divide the domino cards between the players in the group.
  • Each player, in turn, adds one domino card to the board to correctly match a Hebrew to its correct English translation. If a player cannot play a domino card, they miss a turn.
